Port de la Selva is located on the Costa Brava, one of the best windsurf spots in Spain.
It is two hours north of Barcelona and 40 min from France.
Port de la Selva is a beautiful traditional spanish fishing port which attracts windsurfers from all over Spain and even France when the famous Tramontana wind blows and brings perfect conditions for some jumping waves and flat water for freestyle. The Tramontana is a strong wind but only lasts 1, 3, or 6 days. Most commonly, there is a light wind, perfect for your first tries on a windsurfer and learning the basics.
Port de la Selva has tapas restaurants and attracts a lot of tourists during the summer, it is one of the last unspoilt pearls on the Spanish coast and is reknown for being one of the last preserved villages in Spain. This is thanks to its nature and wildlife being protected by National Parcs, so there is a lot of beautiful walking to do around the village and the coast.
There are two windsurf schools located on the beach. Get Wet windsurf weeks is partner with Windsurf Discovery School and if your level gets quickly good you can participate in the September windsurf race from Llanca, the next door village, to El Port de la Selva.
